Tim Tebow traded to the New York Jets
Reports are the New York Jets have traded for Tim Tebow. EDIT: The Jets sent two picks — a fourth-rounder and sixth-rounder in 2012 — to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a seventh-round selection.
Despite Cornerback Antonio Cromartie’s tweets before the trade that “we don’t need Tebow,” the NY Jets have traded a 4th round draft pick to the Jets. All signs point to Mark Sanchez remaining as the starting Quarterback with Tebow used as the primary back-up as well as an option in the wildcat offence used by New Offensive Coordinator Tony Sparano during his time as Dolphins head coach.
Starting Quarterback, Mark Sanchez, was interviewed earlier today (prior to the trade being announced) on “The Petros & Money Show” on FoxSports Radio in Southern California and asked: ”What would it be like to play with a guy like Tim Tebow?”
Sanchez’s response: “I think Peyton (Manning) will do great, I think Tim will do great no matter what happens. He’s either going to get a great chance to learn from one of the best quarterbacks to ever play or he moves on somewhere else and he uses his skills at another ballclub. He definitely has talent. He knows how to win, he knows how to inspire players.”
Later, Sanchez was asked about the Wildcat, and how he feels about lining up as a receiver in the formation.
“I don’t know if I’m very good splitting out like like that,” he said, laughing. “I don’t like coming off the field.”
